About the Irish Trusted Partner

General Information

The Irish Trusted Partner initiative is designed for companies considered as high volume users of the work permits regime.

Under this initiative, companies are granted privileges that allow their employment permit applications to be processed significantly faster than under the standard permit processing time guidelines.

This is a significant benefit to companies who wish to secure permits for more than one applicant, and for those looking to get applicants into Ireland quickly to begin work.

Visa First has assisted many companies with their Trusted Partner Registration.

See the requirements below to find out if your firm is eligible for the Trusted Partner Initiative.

Eligibility

A business can apply for a registration as a Trusted Partner Initiative if:

  • the company is fully registered in Ireland – with both the Companies Registration Office and the Revenue
  • the company can prove that they will be a “high-volume” user – this is usually proved by already having a number of permit applications processed successfully and a number of permit holders already working for the company or a business case letter confirming expansion along with a letter of support from Enterprise Ireland or IDA Ireland
Requirements

In order to apply for a registration as a Trusted Partner you will be required to provide a number of documents. These may include:

  • evidence of business registration with the CRO
  • evidence of paid employment taxes (previously known as P30s)
  • company organisation chart showing connections with other Irish and foreign entities
  • evidence of intension to process a number of permits such as a business case letter and letter of support from Enterprise Ireland or IDA Ireland

FAQ

To be registered as a Trusted Partner with the Department of Enterprise, trade and Employment in Ireland, a company must demonstrate a consistent and ongoing need for employment permits in the future.
This can be shown through:
– a number of successfully processed employment permit applications and a number of permit holders currently working for the company
or
– a business case outlining reasons such as Business expansion and a letter of support from Enterprise Ireland or IDA Ireland

If your business is registered as a Trusted Partner, the permit applications submitted by your company go through streamlined processing which means:
– shorter permit application forms – you are not required to provide detailed business information every time a permit application is submitted
– reduced number of required documents
– faster processing compared to applications submitted by standard employers
– lower professional fees if you decide to avail of the services of an agent
