General Information
With a B1 or a B2 visa, you can travel to the US for business or tourist purposes.
The B1 visa is for business-related activities (including meetings, conferences, corporate events and training), whereas, the B2 visa is for travelling to the US for tourist purposes or medical treatment.
In many cases, the B1 and B2 visas are issued as a combined visa, allowing you to engage in both business and tourist activities during your stay.
With a B1/B2 visa you can stay in the US for a maximum of 6 months but the actual allowed period of stay is determined by the border officer upon entry.
The B1 and B2 visas is usually issued for multiple-entries. In some cases, depending on your country of origin, residence, legal status, immigration history and other factors, the US consular officer might decide to grant a single-entry visa.
